More than 22 lakh students are ready to appear under strict vigilance today, check out major guidelines, checklists

NEET and 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has prepared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Graduate Courses (NEET UG) 2025 today under strict monitoring. Examination pen and paper mode will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm. More than 22.7 lakh medical candidates have registered for this year’s examination. All students should report and enter their respective examination centers before 1.30 pm.

Highly competitive tests, which serve as an entrance to graduate medical courses in top government colleges, will be held at 5,453 centers in more than 500 cities across the country. A three-level monitoring system-examination at the district, state and national levels is kept to ensure that the examination is conducted properly.

This year, most of the examinations have been set up in the central government and government-helped schools, colleges, universities and other educational institutions.

To ensure smooth operation, mock drills were held at all test centers a day earlier. These exercises assessed promptness in the context of mobile signal jammer functionality, adequate deployment of fringing personnel and proper functioning of biometric verification systems.

The Ministry of Education has warned that any student was found to be involved in examination-wil legal action under public examinations (prevention of inappropriate means) Act, 2024, or then in misconduct. 2024. Criminals will be punished according to the provisions of the law.

These measures follow serious allegations of irregularities, including a reported paper leak during last year’s NEET exam, which expressed nationwide concern over the integrity of the process.

In a large crack before the 2025 testing, the NTA flagged off 106 on Telegram and 106 on Instagram to spread the misinformation of 116 social media channels. The agency also launched a dedicated portal to collect leads on online circulating paper leak claims. More than 1,500 such claims have already been received and are subject to reviews.

NEET UG 2025: Examination Day Guidelines, Dress Code and Prohibited Items

What to take

  • Ed admit card with passport-size photo (submitted to the application).
  • An additional identical passport-shaped photo for the attendance sheet.
  • Valid original photo IDs such as Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Voter ID, Driving License, Ration Card, or Class 12 Admit Card with a photo.
  • PWBD Certificate (if applied), issued by a recognized authority.
  • Admission will not be allowed without admission card and valid photo ID.

To maintain fairness, the following dress code must be followed:

  • Light colored clothes with only half sleeve.
  • Shoes are not allowed; Only slippers or sandals with low heel are allowed.
  • Candidates wearing religious or cultural dress should report to additional screening by 12:30 pm.
  • Avoid wearing goods like brooch, badges, jewelry, watches or metal items.
  • Restricted items inside the exam hall
  • Printed or written material, pencil boxes, geometry kits, calculator.
  • Electronic devices: mobile phones, Bluetooth gadgets, smartwatch, fitness band.
  • Wallets, handbags, belts, caps, or any metal-based items.
  • Food or drink, whether sealed or unheard.
  • Any item that can allow to cheat.

The occupation of prohibited goods can lead to disqualification under public examinations (prevention of unfair means) Act, 2024.

Other major instructions

  • The entrances will be closed at 1.30 pm; Latecomrs will not be allowed.
  • Candidates should only sit on their scheduled seats; Divergence can lead to disqualification.
  • OMR is not allowed to leave the examination hall without submitting sheets.
  • Ensure that the test book is complete and intact before it starts.
  • The appearance will be launched twice-in the beginning and before presenting the answer sheet.
