According to official data, more than 30,000 devotees visited the Kedarnath temple on Friday.
According to official data, on May 2 at 7 pm – 19,196 men, 10,597 women, and 361 visited Kedarnath.
The doors of Kedarnath Dham were opened on Friday, and a band of the Garhwal Rifles of the Indian Army played devotional tunes on the occasion.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also attended the Dham portal opening ceremony.
CM Dhami also distributed prasad to the devotees at the Mukhiya Sevak Bhandara organized in the Kedarnath campus. He said that Badrinath’s doors will open on May 4.
“The state government is fully prepared to welcome devotees from all over the country,” the minister commented, “The state government constantly monitors pilgrimage at every level. Various basic facilities have also been installed on pilgrimage routes. Char Dham Yatra is also the life line of the state. It is a means of pilgrimage.
The Chief Minister further assured that the state government is firm to ensure that the Char Dham Yatra continues throughout the year, for which the winter pilgrimage has also been started.
Mr. Dhami confirmed that Rs 2000 crore has been allocated for “Kedarnath’s reconstruction work”. Additionally, the Central Government has approved the establishment of Gurikund to Kedarnath Ropeway.
Earlier, addressing the gathering on the occasion, CM Dhami said that the Char Dham Yatra began on April 30, and two days after May 2, the doors of Lord Badrinath Dham will also open to the devotees.
He emphasized that the government has managed to ensure a safe journey for the devotees and has made proper arrangements so that they do not face any problem.
“Char Dham Yatra started on 30th April on the occasion of Akshay Tritia … Two days from today, the doors of Lord Badrinath Vishal will also open, and the journey will start in full swing.
