Motorola has recently been on a roll, launching many new products this year. A few weeks ago, we saw the launch of Motorola Edge 60 Styles, followed by the new Motorola Pad Pro and Moto Book Laptop. Last night, Motorola also announced its premium foldable Prasad for its brand New RAZR 60 and RAZR 60 Ultra models as its premium foldable offerings in the US. Also, Motorola also announced its new lead 60 and Edge 60 Pro model to add to their mid-range prasad. While there is no news about the new RazRs coming to India so far, Motorola has officially started teasing its age 60 Pro, which is ready to launch on 30 April. I reached this smartphone quickly, and here I have impressions.
The Motorola Edge 60 Pro is the successor of the Edge 50 Pro launched last year. The phone is competitively Rs. 31,999 and our reviews states that a good mix of features including IP68 ratings, fast wireless charging and a vegetarian leather wrapped body with competent cameras have been introduced. However, this battery decreased in life and was a slightly troubled performance. With the New Age 60 Pro, Motorola addressed and worked.
Motorola Edge 60 Pro will be available in three colors at the time of launch
The new phone looks similar to the model that replaces it. Despite obtaining IP69 ratings and Mi-STD-810H certification this year, it seems soft vegetarian-leather. It also felt surprisingly thin that I got to use it during a few minutes, given that it packs a high -capacity battery. It is available in three colors: shadows, sparkling grapes, and shiny blue. The sparkling grape finish looked very classy and felt the premium.
Motorola Edge 60 Pro has 120Hz, Pold Panel
Things have also changed on the front side. Now there is a 4C curved performance, as Motorola calls it. 6.67-inch, 1.5K resolution, 120Hz display appeared similar to the curved edge display from the previous model, but the Corning Gorilla Glass 7i screen also receives less aggressive curvature on the top and bottom edges. The same can be said about the performance below, which decreases very deeply in the top and bottom sides. As you may have seen, the 144Hz refresh rate has been reduced to 120Hz, which is not a big deal with honesty. However, Motorola claims that this new polead panel offers 4,500 NITS of Peak Brightness, which is much bright than the panel of Edge 50 Pro.
Edge 60 Pro’s camera setup comes with some changes this year
This year the camera setup also looks a bit different. It is now a new 50-megapixel Sony Lyt 700C sensor and 50-megapixel ultravide camera (double as a macro camera). The 10-megapixel telephoto camera and a 50-megapixel selfie camera remain unchanged. Has Laser Autofocus (TOF) sensor and 3 -in -1 sensor (for exposure, auto white balance and flicker). Motorola said that the new phone has a multi-spectrum sensor for color accuracy, which has been given its pantone-human camera and display.
This year the processor has received a very important upgrade. Motorola Edge 60 Pro to MediaTek Demistance 8350 Extreme Processor (in which the clock speed is increased), last year there is a big upgrade from Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 gene 3. These are also addressed RAM and storage. LPDDR5X with 8/12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. While the new chipset will promote a performance, Motorola says it is also designed to power its new Moto AI 2.0 experiences for on-device processing.
Moto AI has been applied in many parts of user experience
The Moto AI 2.0 can only be drawn by pressing the dedicated AI key. There are new and interesting features, but none of these demo units were functional or accessible. I will delay their details throughout the review. Motorola uses various AI models to complete tasks. In fact, no one can choose an AI model (such as Gemini or Perplexity) to execute a particular function by a voice command. The Moto AI 2.0 interface, when pressing the button, pops up with overlays like a card, carries the lower half of the display, and therefore no matter whether anyone is using any task or app. Moto AI 2.0 moves above Hello UI, which is now based on Android 15.
Motorola also talked about using AI for her camera processing, reminiscent of Apple’s series of iPhone 16 series. This can basically apply a custom color treatment of your selection to all images of the phone cameras.
The phone looked quite thin for a 6,000mAh battery device
A major complaint of our Edge 50 Pro Review was battery life, and Motorola has worked on it. The Motorola Edge 60 Pro now comes with a 6,000mAh battery (from 4,500mAh), but slows 90W wired charging. The Qi-standard 15W wireless charging has been retained.
In fact, it seems that Motorola has listened to its users and has come up with a segment-beating package. However, we will need to test the company’s claims and verify whether the hardware upgrade is expected. Till then, stay for our detailed review, which will soon be out!
