The Madhya Pradesh High Court has stayed the NEET UG 2025 results.
Power outage at more than 12 centers allegedly disrupted the examination process.
The petitioners have requested a re -investigation at the affected centers.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court has issued an interim migration on the announcement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) (NEET UG 2025) results, directing the National Testing Agency (NTA), not to release the results until further orders. The court move follows a petition alleging serious irregularities in several examination centers in Indore.
The NEET UG 2025 exam was held on 4 May. While the candidates were waiting for the results, the latest controversy came to light on the terms of the examination. According to the petition, more than 12 centers in Indore experienced power outage during testing, which disrupted the examination process and affected the students’ performance. It was claimed that due to blackout, students were unable to try several questions in time. Emergency lighting was provided using late candles as a bus 30 minutes before the examination ended.
The petitioners have demanded a re -investigation in the affected centers. Taking cognizance of the allegations, the court said that the NTA has failed to make adequate arrangements and issued a notice seeking response. The next hearing in the case is expected to be held after four weeks.
The incident has again brought NTA under investigation. Last year, NEET UG was killed by a paper leak controversy, and this year’s technical issues have raised questions about the credibility of the agency.
No official reaction has been released by the NTA so far.
