‘New railway projects will improve connectivity infrastructure’: PM Modi


New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that his government improved connectivity infrastructure for four multi-tracking railway projects, promoted convenience, reduced logistics costs and strengthened supply chains.

A government press note said it was reacting to the approval of the Union Cabinet for four projects of the Ministry of Railways, including a total cost of about Rs 18,658 crore.

Four projects covering 15 districts in three states of Maharashtra, Odisha and Chhattisgarh will increase the existing network of Indian Railways by about 1,247 km.

PM Modi said that to ensure better quality of life in border villages, the cabinet node for Vibrant Village Program-II is a “extraordinary news”.

He said, “With this approval, we are also expanding the scope of villages covered in comparison to the program of lively villages.”

The purpose of the program is to create better living conditions and sufficient livelihood opportunities to ensure rich and safe boundaries, control trans-border crimes and assimilate the border population with the nation and, as the eyes and ears of the ‘border security forces, as the eyes and ears of the’ border security forces.

With a total outlay of Rs 6,839 crore, the program has been said in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Kankam, Sankam, Sankan, Sangha, Sangam, Sangam, Sangam, Sandhya 2028-29, a statement.
