No hat on the number of devotees for Char Dham Yatra this year: official

Garhwal (Uttarakhand):

Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said that the preparations for the administration for the Char Dham Yatra have almost been completed. He said that there will be no cap on the number of devotees who can participate in the pilgrimage.

The official said that traffic system, pure drinking water and parking preparations are the main focus.

“Our preparation is almost done. Special focus is focused on 3-4 things: traffic, pure drinking water, and parking. This time, the travel route is divided into 10 km each.

He said, “Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given very clear directions that pilgrims should not face any kind of inconvenience. Registration continues; around 13.5 lakh people have so far registered online. This time, there is no cap on the number of pilgrims traveling, he said.

The officer also talked about the efforts of the administration to make the yatra ‘green’ and ensure cleanliness in the pilgrimage.

“PM Modi has given a tagline of ‘Green Yatra’ for this visit, so it is being appealed to the pilgrims and the field officials are clearly told that they have a religious value and their sanctity should be retained, but we should also try to ensure that they are working for something. Pandey said.

He said that soon after the conclusion of the yatra, the Chief Minister directed the officials to prepare for this year.

“Soon after the Char Dham Yatra ended last year, the Chief Minister gave directions to start preparations (for this year’s visit). 2-3 meetings have already been held by the Chief Minister. He takes feedback about preparations every day. All DMS of SPS, SPS, SPS, SPS and HODS.

Earlier, as part of the preparation of the journey, the 30-member advance team of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) arrived at Badrinath Dham yesterday and said in an official statement to introduce restoration and infrastructure system in front of the annual pilgrimage.

The doors of Badrinath Dham are opening on 4 May. The state government is preparing for the Chardham Yatra before the visit, while continuous preparations are being made at BKTC level for the journey.

The weather in Badrinath Dham is clear, although snow can still be seen in some places and on the nearby hills.
