Northern Army Commander reviews security situation in Jammu and Kashmir

The army said that Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma visited Poonch and Nowshera districts of Jammu and Kashmir and reviewed the prevailing security status and operational readiness, the army said.

“Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander Northern Command, the prevailing security status and operational readiness visited Poonch and the front areas of Nowshera,” Northern Command, the Indian Army posted on X.

The post said, “The army commander praised all the ranks for successful execution of operations and motivated them to maintain sharp vigilance, adopt active measures and maintain exemplary professionalism all the time.”

Earlier on Friday, the Northern Army Commander appreciated the Chiner Corps for his fast action and accurate execution in the joint operation, which neutralized three militants in Avantpora.

In Operation Nadar, three suspected terrorists, Asif Ahmed Sheikh, Amir Nazir Wani and Yavar Ahmed Bhat were abolished. Three AK-series rifles, twelve magazines, three grenades and various other war-like stores were also recovered.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat also visited the border areas of Jammu district.

The DGP started its journey from the RS Pura sector and interacted with the Border Security Force and the Jammu and Kashmir Police Jawans in a variety of BOP, including Octroi (Suchetgarh) and Kharkola, as well as the Border Police posts of Baspur Bungalow and Agra Chak.

According to a statement, DGP Prabhat admitted the role of the police in the recent Indo-Pak struggle. He appreciated the authorities for his active role in handling the situation in the border villages, which ensured the timely transfer of people from the border areas.
