Nothing is to be introduced as the company’s first flagship-grade smartphone in July. The UK-based original equipment manufacturer (OEM) has now teased that despite packing several promising upgrade, its alleged handset will miss a major design feature that has become synonymous with smartphones since the phone 1-Gliff Interface. This is potentially means that nothing current is used to check the alert through the phone 1 or phone 2 users who at the rear signature glowing LED, if they upgrade the phone 3 then they will not be able to do so.
Nothing no gliff interface on phone
In a post on X (East Twitter), nothing shared a small video clip with nothing a short video clip “We killed the gliff interface.” The video itself teases the disappearance of the convenience. It is not clear whether it will be a permanent decision in the company’s future device portfolio or just nothing is specific to the phone 3.
The British OEM introduced the Gliff Interface in 2022 with its first smartphone. Since then, nothing of every handset has been depicted with a slight change in the signature design element, making them a difference from other smartphones and making them easily recognizable.
Gliff interface is essentially a set of LED lights placed behind the handset that shines to indicate the upcoming calls, information and battery charging status. They are specifically sinks for each preset ringtone, and their patterns can be adapted to create a sewn glowing design. This functionality is nothing available from phone 1 to the latest Nothing Phone 3A Pro is available. However, the alleged flagship-grade handset is likely to remember it.
Nothing has been claimed to be the company’s “First True Flagship smartphone”. It is said that major performance upgrade, premium content, and “software that really levels it”. While its specifications live in wrapped, we guess how much it will cost.
During the Android Show: I/O version earlier this month, anything co-founder Carl Pei teased that nothing would cost around GBP 800 (about 90,000 rupees) around the phone 3 3. It is almost double the price of the phone 2, priced at Rs. 44,999 for 8GB + 128GB configuration launch for Aadhaar.
