NYT slammed on its reporting of Kashmir terrorist attack by the US government

New Delhi:

The New York Times has been drawn by the US government to report a terrorist attack in Pahgam in Jammu and Kashmir, asking 26 people to prove their loyalty to Islam that they were shot dead with a foreign national.

The attack, for which an offshoot-defined responsibility of a Pakistan-based terror group resistance front-related Lashkar-e-Tabiba was reported as “terrorist” attack by New York Times. An introduction to the report also states that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who called “shooting” a “terrorist attack”.

NYT called out terrorist report

The United States Government’s Foreign Affairs Committee on social media took the New York Times article to call publicly calling it “removed from reality”. The NYT headline read ‘at least 24 tourists closed by terrorists in Kashmir’.

“It was a terrorist attack, plain and simple,” the US government said that “whether it is India or Israel, when it comes to terrorism, NYT is removed from reality.”

The post also shared a picture with the improvement made by NYT, which said, “Hey, Nyt, we decided it for you.”

Difference between extremism and terrorism

Terrorism usually refers to an armed rebellion from within a state to achieve a political or social results, while terrorism is an external reference, where a calculated use of violence creates an atmosphere of fear in a particular geography to lead to an odd war to lead a foreign nation to a major intention or purpose.

India said in a statement on Wednesday that a top level meeting on security chaired by the Prime Minister said that “in briefing for the Cabinet Committee on security, cross-limiting relations of terrorist attack were brought out. The attack was noted that the attack was noted that the attack came in view of successful holding of elections in the union area and stable progress towards economic development and development.”

‘Double standards’

Lashkar-e-Tabiba or Late, from which its shadow stems in front of resistance, is a joint terrorist organization, which recognizes its terrorist credibility globally. Nevertheless, a large swath of Western media, referred to by President Trump as “Ligi Media”, often reports incidents of terror as “firing” or “extremist” events, according to analysts.

Pakistan has been “cross-border terrorism” against India for decades and claimed that it is the task of “non-state actors”-a classic case of the property war. India has shared evidence about terrorists coming from areas under its illegal occupation and control with Pakistan on several occasions, but Islamabad has never cooperated with New Delhi.

Analysts have often indicated “double-standard” in Kashmir’s western media coverage. While most of the “Heritage Media” in West reports Russia’s move in Ukraine as an “attack”, the same media reported Kashmir as a “controversy” and not the attack in the Indian territory of Pakistan.

Attack of Jammu and Kashmir

In 1947, during the partition of India, two nations were formed – India, which chose to remain secular, and Pakistan, which was built on the ideology of two -nation theory – sought a separate nation for Muslims. Millions of Muslims rejected the views of Pakistan and its founder Jinnah, and chose to live in a secular India. However, by then, lines were drawn.

Pakistan thus became the first nation in the world, not on the basis of a general language or ethnicity, but on the basis of religion.

At the time of independence, the erstwhile prince of Jammu and Kashmir, which includes the northern region – now called Gilgit -Baltistan – joined the Union of India by signing the instrument of reception. But Pakistan, which was formed on the ideology of two-nation theory, claimed that the people of Jammu and Kashmir-a Muslim-Bahul state, should ‘ideally’ belong to Pakistan due to that argument.

But when Karachi (then the capital of Pakistan), saw that Jammu and Kashmir merged with India, Muhammad Ali Jinnah – the founder of Pakistan – indicated an attack by sending the tribes that gave up the widespread violence in Kashmir. He then ordered the newly formed Pakistan Army soldiers to attack Kashmir and take it forcibly. This led to an armed struggle between India and Pakistan. By the time the Indian Army could reach Kashmir, Pakistan had attacked and illegally occupied the areas that we now refer to as Pakistan-Quiz Kashmir-which includes the Gilgit-Baltistan region.
