Odisha man on a trip with his wife and son was killed because he got down from Pahalgam Ropeway

A tourist from Odisha was killed in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir this afternoon. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has instructed the Resident Commissioner in Delhi to take steps to ensure that he reached his residence in Balasore district, the body of 43 -year -old Prashant Satpathy.

A resident of Ishni village under Remuna block, Satpathy was an accountant and went to Jammu and Kashmir with his wife, Priyadarshini and nine -year -old son for a holiday on 19 April.

Prashant’s wife Priyadhini told an Odia news channel on the phone from the attack that her husband was hit by a bullet as he was wandering from a ropeway in an off-road meado, Bisran area in Pahgam.

He fell on the spot, he remembered.

His brother, Sushant Shatapati said that he came to know about his death when he called a toll-free number. Sushant Satapathi, brother of Pahlgam Terror, a resident of Odisha Pahlgam Terler, says, “I got information at around 3 am today. I called the toll-free number and informed about his death.”

One of the relatives of Satpathy later said that his body was taken by the army for a postmortem examination.

In a statement, Mr. Majhi described the attack as “heinous and barbaric” and expressed deep grief over the death of tourists.

A release by the CMO said, “It is also reported that an Odia tourist has died in the incident. The Chief Minister has instructed the chief resident commissioner in Delhi to take steps to ensure that the body of Odia Touted arrives easily at its residence.”

To take to the X, Mr. Majhi said: “Strongly condemn the cowardly attack on tourists at #Pahalgam in South Kashmir. There is no place in our society. There is a heartfelt condolences to those who lost their lives. Praying for early recovery of the injured. Odisha stands in unity with the victims and their families during this difficult time.” Leader of Opposition in Odisha Assembly, Naveen Patnaik also ended the attack on tourists in Pahgam.

Former Chief Minister Patnaik said in a post on X, “Terrorism should not have any place in a civilized world and this brutal act is unacceptable. I have a deep condolences to families who lost their beloved people and prayed for the initial recovery of those who were injured.”
