An Odisha Teki used chat by chatting with an autorickshaw driver in Kannada language and interacting on rent in Bangalore.
Sajan Maho, a material manufacturer and technical enthusiastic enthusiast in Rourkela, posted a video on Instagram to show how he used the sound feature of the bot to overcome the language blockage and successfully interacted on low fare in Kannada. AutorickShaw Driver initially cited Rs 200, but with the help of AI, Mr. Mahto brought it down to Rs 120.
In the video, Mr. Maho says, “Bangalore auto prices are very high, so I am going to ask the chatgipt to talk for me.” Speaking in the app, he tells AI, “Auto Gai is saying that the fare is 200 rupees, I want it to be less up to 100 rupees. I am a student, I cross this route daily. Please talk to him well like my elder brother.”
The chat then responded fluently in Kannada because Mr. Maho kept a phone to the driver’s ear, “Anna (brother), he is a student, he travels here every day, can you please reduce the price?” The driver responds with a revised rent of Rs 120, in which AI says, “Thank you, Anna, Rs 120 is fine, thanks for the adjustment.”
The video went viral in no time.
One user wrote, “Language barrier solution.”
Another commented, “I will use it with shopkeepers and local vendors.”
“Even chat learned Kannada,” read a comment.
Mr. Maho clarified in his Instagram caption that the video was made only for educational purposes. “It is an attempt to educate how one can use Chatgpt in day to day life. It does not intention to harm any feelings about any feelings. The only purpose is only education. It is a task that is not a real autowala,” he wrote.
Last year, an autorickshaw driver made one in Bengaluru “Know Kannada” sheet To help non-country speakers to communicate better. The guide consisted of basic phrases in Kannada with English translations.
