Sending a strong message after the Pahalgam terror attack, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that his politics is not so “cheap” that he would use this tragedy as an opportunity to press his government to demand the state.
“Jammu and Kashmir is not the responsibility of the currently elected government. But I do not want to use it as an opportunity to demand the state. How can I use the Pahgam tragedy to ask the Center for the state? Is my politics so cheap? Do I reduce these 26 lives? State.
At one point, when some members began to exploit the benches to praise the Chief Minister’s speech, they stopped them. “Not today, we will tap the benches on some other day.”
The National Conference of Shri Abdullah is demanding restoration of the state of Jammu and Kashmir for its position before August 5, 2019, when the Center canceled its particular position and dominated the then state in two center areas – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
In his powerful speech, Mr. Abdullah said that every part of the country, from north to south and east to west, came around the neck of this heinous attack. The leader of the National Conference said that the entire Kashmir is united against this attack and it can mark the “beginning of the end of terror” in the valley.

Emphasizing that someone should seek hope in the worst time, he said that this is the first time in two decades that people in Jammu and Kashmir have hit the streets to oppose such a scale attack.
