Breakdown:
Police on Friday arrested four of the seven prominent accused in a gang rape case – who were on bail – to parade on the streets of Akki Allur in cars, celebrating release.
The incident occurred on 20 May. But the video clipping went viral on social media, criticized the neti, motivated the police to work.
Superintendent of Police of Havari district, Prasu Kumar Srivastava told reporters that a case has been registered against the accused persons for illegal assembly and grain driving.
The official also said that the sheets of history were made against seven people and had filed an application before the court to demand the cancellation of the bail of seven prominent accused persons.
The arrested is placed as Samiullah Lalanavar, Mohammad Sadiq Agasimani, Shoib Mulla and Riyaz Savikari.
The police have launched a manhint to nab the remaining three.
The nineteen, including seven prominent accused, were arrested in January 2024 in the gang rape case reported at Hangal Police Station. Twelve other accused in the case were issued on bail 10 months ago.
The 26 -year -old victim informed the media about the alleged gang rape. Later, he made a statement before the magistrate. He also identified the suspects in an identity parade organized before Hangal Tehsildar.
