OnePlus is preparing for the launch of a midrange smartphone in China. According to a recent leakage, the company is currently testing a device that can facilitate a flat display with 1.5K resolution and an impressive 165Hz refresh rate. This will be the first handset in the company’s lineup to facilitate such a performance. OnePlus has so far revealed any details of such a smartphone, but rumors suggest that it may be part of the upcoming OnePlus Ace 6 Series or Ace Racing Edition series in China. OnePlus Ace 5 Pro and OnePlus Ace 5 were launched in China in December last year.

In a post on Weibo, Tipster Digital Chat Station claims that OnePlus is testing a new handset With a flat display with 1.5K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. The new phone is asked to offer an advanced integrated circuit (IC) chip for better touch accountability. However, unlike other high-end specifications, this upgrade is unlikely to debut on a flagship model.
The new 165Hz display will be tried first on the company’s mid-range smartphone, marking a shift from normal practice, where the high refresh rate is usually reserved for the flagship handset, according to the tipster. OnePlus can use the mid-tier lineup as a test field to assess the actual world performance and user feedback before scaling the feature for its premium model.
If the smartphone in question is actually a mid-range model, it can be a part of the upcoming OnePlus Ace 6 series. OnePlus Ace 6 series is estimated to come up with a 1.5K resolution display with a 165Hz refresh rate. It has been tipped to come with Snapdragon 8 series chipset and 7,000mAh battery. It can give an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
OnePlus Ace 6 is expected to be launched in China in October. This OnePlus 15R can go officially in other global markets under the name.
OnePlus launched Ace 5 Pro and Ace 5 in China in December 2024. They feature 6.78-inch full-HD+ display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. They offer storage up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB. The Pro model Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Edition runs on the Extreme Edition SOC, while the ACE5 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 General 3 chip. He has a triple rear camera setup headed by a 50-megapixel primary sensor.
