New Delhi:
Praising the armed forces to fulfill the objectives of Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday exposed the world, once again, how Pakistan used civil flights as a shield, endangered the lives of hundreds of innocent people.
Addressing the Indian Air Force personnel at Adampur Airbase – India’s second largest – in Punjab on Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi said that the Indian armed forces attacked terrorist bases in Pakistan on 7 May with a pinpoint accuracy on 7-25 minutes in 7-25 minutes in 7-25 minutes.
“Your accuracy was such that the enemy was stunned, it was not felt even when it was killed. Our aim was to kill the terrorist headquarters and terrorists, but Pakistan hatched a conspiracy by putting its passenger aircraft in front … I can imagine how it would have become difficult, but you do a wonderful thing.”
During a press briefing on Friday, India had explained how Pakistan did not close its airspace for civil flights, even it launched 300–400 missiles in India the previous day, and said the country was using any civil aircraft, including international flights, including shields.
“Pakistan is using civil airlines as a shield, fully knowing that its attack on India will receive a sharp air defense response. It is not safe for unprotected civil airlines, including international flights, who were flying near the international border between India and Pakistan,” said the army colonel Sophia Qureshi.
The same evening, at least two commercial aircraft were seen flying near Lahore in Pakistan, even a fresh wave of drones and missiles was being intercepted on the Indian side. While all this was happening, India had closed its airspace for civil aircraft and close their airspace near the international border.
India’s allegations played the alarm bails, Pakistan on Saturday temporarily shut down its airspace for civilian aircraft, the day its Director General of its military operations called their Indian counterpart and agreed to a ceasefire.
