Pakistan has canceled all flights to the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Poke amid tension
This decision follows the possibility of Indian military action after the J&K terrorist attack.
Pakistan International Airlines suspended all flights from Gilgit, Scardu
New Delhi:
A few days after the Indian carrier’s ownership and closure of their airspace for all flights, Pakistan today canceled its flights to the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The move is afraid of military action by India in view of the terrible terrorist attack in Pahgam in Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 tourists were shot dead in a religiously motivated attack.
Pakistan International Airlines or PIA, as commonly called, has canceled all flights from Gilgit and Scurdu in PoK. News reports in Pakistan revealed the PIA flight program on Wednesday, showing that four flights to Scardu – each from Karachi and Lahore and two from Islamabad have been canceled.
Four other flights from Islamabad to Gilgit have also been canceled, Pakistan’s Urdu Daily Jung. Another English Daily Express Tribune, confirming the news, said, “Pakistan has carried forward its vigilance, especially under the supervision of its airspace amid tension with India.” “For security reasons, all commercial flights have been determined to operate from gilgit and scurdu,” he said.
Pakistani officials have told the newspaper that the measures are “precautionary” and aims to ensure “its airspace”. However, this is not clear, if it is a temporary remedy or long -term.
Apart from the areas coming to Pakistan -occupied Kashmir, Islamabad has also increased its security and monitoring across the country.
Twenty -six people, including a foreign national, were shot dead by terrorists, as they were asked to prove their loyalty to Islam. The targeted murders, which were religiously inspired, have been condemned globally.
Kashmiris have condemned terror in the entire center region and blame Pakistan for this, while fellow Indians were equally infected on cowardly work.
The attack claim was an offshoot by Pakistan-based terror group The Resistance Front-Band Lashkar-e-Tabiba.
