Police said on Sunday that unknown persons in an SUV allegedly fired several rounds in the air over a dispute related to Patna in Patna’s boring canal road area.

No one was injured in the incident on Saturday evening.

Patna SSP Holiday Kumar told PTI that six police personnel have been suspended in connection with the incident of insult to duty.

“Unknown miscreants in an SUV fired several rounds in the air in the boring canal road area. Incidentally, Additional ADG (law and order) Pankaj Dard was also present near the spot as he was returning from a meeting.

“ADG security guards also fired in the air near GPO Golmber in an attempt to stop the attackers, managed to run his vehicle carelessly. Dard also alerted the police control room,” SDPO (Sachivala) Saket Kumar told reporters.

Eyewitnesses claimed that several rounds in the air were removed by individuals after a warm argument at the parking lot.

The SSP said that a team has been formed to investigate the incident. “CCTV footage is being investigated to identify the miscreants who traveled in a black SUV, which had no number plates.”

Meanwhile, a police statement said that suspended officers are a sub-inspector, two assistant sub-inspectors and three constables, including two women constables.
