Kanpur:
A 21-year-old man and his 19-year-old girlfriend were publicly beaten by the former parents in Kanpur on Friday.
The incident, in which a video has gone viral, took place at Ram Gopal intersection under Gujaini police station area.
According to the police, the man, Rohit, was doing Chaumin with his girlfriend when his parents – Shivkaran and Sushila reached the spot. Rohit’s parents, who rejected their relationship, then started throwing him and his girlfriend.
The police said in a statement, “In this case, the police separated the two parties after counseling them and further legal action is being taken.”
In the video, Sushila is seen hitting the young couple, who try to escape on a two -wheeler. He is also seen holding the woman’s hair as local residents and passers by trying to separate the two.
Rohit’s father is also seen slapping with a slippers.
