PM Modi called Waqf Bill Pass “Watershed Moment”

Parliament Live Update: On the last day of the budget session, the Center will see to pass several major legislative legislations, including the Goa Bill, re -involving the representation of Scheduled Tribes in the 2024 state assembly constituencies. Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy will amend the Mental Health Services Act, 2017 and Mental Health Services (Amendment) Bill, 2024.

A day after the Rajya Sabha discussed the Waqf (Amendment) Bill at midnight and then passed it in his favor with 128 votes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the law a “watershed moment”. The Muslim Waqf (Relations) Bill, 2024, has also been passed in Parliament.

Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju accused the opposition parties of trying to mislead people on the Waqf Amendment Bill and said that it would benefit crores of people of the Muslim community.

The budget session of Parliament was called in two parts; It started on 31 January and went till 13 February. The second part of the budget session of Parliament began on March 10 and will end on 4 April.
