PM Modi vowed to uproot DMK for Tamil Nadu’s progress

New Delhi:

April 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed happiness over the AIADMK’s decision to join the NDA and said that together with other NDA partners, they will bring Tamil Nadu to new heights of progress.

In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Strong, together, united towards Tamil Nadu’s progress! Glad that the AIADMK joins the NDA family. Simultaneously, with our other NDA partners, we will take Tamil Nadu to new heights of progress and serve the state with passion.

PM Modi also vowed that the AIADMK-BJP alliance would overthrow the corrupt DMK government for the progress of Tamil Nadu.

PM Modi said in the post, “For the progress of Tamil Nadu and to maintain the uniqueness of Tamil culture, it is important that the corrupt and divisive DMK was uprooted as soon as possible, which will form us.”

Earlier in Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that AIADMK, BJP and all coalition parties would simultaneously contest the upcoming assembly elections in Tamil Nadu under the National Democratic Alliance. Important political development comes ahead of the Tamil Nadu assembly elections to be held in 2026.

Shah said, “AIADMK and BJP leaders have decided that AIADMK, BJP and all Alliance parties will contest the upcoming assembly elections as NDA together in Tamil Nadu.”

The BJP is eager to improve its possibilities in Tamil Nadu after a set attempt in the last Lok Sabha elections, where it failed to win a seat in the southern state.

In the last two elections-Lok Sabha and Final Assembly Elections-AIADMK has fought to perform strongly.

AIADMK formed an alliance with the BJP after J Jayalalithaa was passed in 2016.

During the 2021 state elections, AIADMK and BJP were in alliance, resulting in the BJP won four seats. However, AIADMK formed relations with BJP in 2023.
