Rapid action on the potential border across espionage links, the police have started investigating the relationship of Odisha Utubar Priyanka Senapati with Valogger Jyoti Malhotra, who was arrested for “espionage” for Pakistan.

Apart from this, Jagannath Bhakta Niwas is a guest house under investigation, where Ms. Malhotra stayed during her visit to Puri in September last year. The manager of the property said she reached the residence with another woman on 21 September and stayed for a day. The manager said, “No one had come to meet him. She did not live in the room for a long time, and after some time she came out and went out.”
Puri Superintendent of Police Vineet Aggarwal said that verification of all the information including financial transactions is going on in the ongoing detective investigation.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) CID Crime Branch, Sarathak Sarani said that the facts are being verified. “She (Ms. Malhotra) also visited Chilika and Konark. She was in touch with a Utubar in Odisha. We are confirming all the facts. We are in touch with our counterparts about Jyoti Malhotra in Haryana.”
Ms. Malhotra was arrested for allegedly sharing sensitive information and being in constant contact with a Pakistani citizen. She allegedly met a Pakistani officer Ahsan-ur-Rahim when she went to Pakistan’s High Commission in 2023, visited Pakistan twice to apply for a visa, and shared sensitive information according to police. Officials said the woman also said during the investigation that Ahsan-ur-Rahim arranged for her stay and travel and arranged for the Pakistani security and intelligence agencies.
