Taking a serious note of the medical infrastructure of prayer, the Allahabad High Court has said that the government medical setup in the city is very threatened by the private medical mafia and the Swarup Rani Nehru Hospital cannot be called a hospital, but not a corpse.
In his order on Friday, Justice Rohit Ranjan Aggarwal said, “The SRN Hospital, associated with Motilal Nehru Medical College, is in a pathetic position. The touts posted by the medical MAFIA to the poor and helpless patients are being attached to the private medical.
The bench said, “Government medical set up is in great danger from the city’s private medical mafia.”
The court took a serious note of a report presented by the two amicus couria appointed by the court, who inspected the SRN Hospital and highlighted the inadequateness of the facilities in the hospital and the non-availability of doctors in the OPD.
The court issued directions to improve the status of SRN Hospital and also directed the Principal Secretary of Uttar Pradesh to inform the state government about this order and implement it to the Chief Secretary and if the Chief Minister is needed before the Chief Minister.
