Former Deputy Chief of the Army, Lt Gen S Pattabhiraman died, the force remembered him as “a soldier in the heart and a leader in the soul”. He died at the age of 78.
Paying tribute to the officer in a post on X, the army said he died on Saturday.
He said, “All rank of #Generalupendradradradwividi, #Coas and #Indianarmy express deep condolences on the tragic demise of Lieutenant General’s Pattabhiraman, expands the heartfelt sensations towards the former #Vcoas and their family and loved ones,” said this.
“A soldier in the heart and a leader in the soul, the timeless heritage of Lt Gen Pattabhiraman will be dug in our hearts forever.
In his long career, Lieutenant General Pattabhiraman also worked as Colonel Commandant of Bombay Sappers.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Defense, he performed a supernance as Deputy Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS) in 2006 after serving for 40 years in various prestigious appointments.
