‘Preventive citizens of Pak terrorism’: Indian envoy in United Nations

New York:

India’s permanent representative for the United Nations, Ambassador Parvathani Harish strongly criticized Pakistan’s actions in an open debate on the security of citizens in the armed struggle in the United Nations Security Council.

Responding to the “baseless” allegations made by the representative of Pakistan on several issues, he confirmed that India had experienced decades of Pakistani-proposed terrorist attacks across its borders, which led to participation in discussing the security of citizens for Pakistan.

“First of all, India has experienced decades of Pakistani-proposed terrorist attacks across our borders. It is for a brutal massacre of innocent tourists in Pahgam in April 2025, from the horrific attack on the Mumbai city to the 26-11 attack on the Mumbai city. Pakistani terrorism victims have attacked.”

He said, “There is also one affected to the international community for such a nation to participate in the discussion on the safety of citizens.”

Paravathanini Harish criticized Pakistan’s actions, saying, “Pakistan has repeatedly used a civil cover to carry forward the cause of terrorism. Sindoor. A nation that makes no difference between terrorists and citizens, has no credentials to speak about protecting citizens.”

He recently mentioned an incident where Pakistani forces deliberately opened the Indian border villages, resulting in citizens casualties. He said, “Earlier this month, the Pakistani army deliberately opened our border villages, killed more than 20 citizens and injured more than 80.”

He said, “The place of worship was deliberately targeted with gurudwaras, temples and culprits as well as medical facilities. To preach in this body after such behavior,” he said.

The ambassador emphasized the need for international cooperation to counter terrorism and said that “the international community should come together on zero tolerance for terrorism and call people who sponsor it and defend it.”

Exposing the importance of collective action, Harish said, “My delegation has confirmed his commitment to work in close cooperation with the international community to reduce the suffering of citizens affected by the armed struggle.”

On 7 May, the Indian armed forces launched the ‘Operation Sindoor’, which kills terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Jammu and Kashmir, where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed.

These steps come in view of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 25 Indians and a Nepali citizen were killed.
