Priyanka Gandhi’s tribute to father Rajiv Gandhi

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress MP of Wayanad, paid a heartfelt tribute to his late father and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on the anniversary of his 34th death and said that he understood the true meaning of patriotism from his father, who was a true Patriot, who respected people, he had a smile and end on his face.

“I understood the true meaning of patriotism from Rajiv ji – to be true for my country, to honor the people of my country, to fulfill his duty despite every struggle and die for his country with a smile on his face,” Priyka posted on X.

Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated on May 21, 1991 in a suicide bombing in Tamil Nadu during an election campaign.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi to the anniversary of his death.

PM Modi posted, “Today on the anniversary of his death, I pay my tribute to my former Prime Minister Shri Rajiv Gandhiji.”

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi also paid emotional tribute to Rajiv Gandhi.

Paying tribute to flowers in Veer Bhumi in the national capital, he said that his father’s memory guides him at every step.

In a post on social media platform X, Rahul Gandhi wrote, “Papa, your memories guide me at every step. I resolve to make your unfinished dreams come true – and I will fulfill them.”

Senior Congress leaders including party president Mallikrajun Kharge and Congress leader Sachin Pilot also paid floral tributes to the late leader.

Recalling the former Prime Minister, Kharge that it was posted on X that Rajiv Gandhi was a “great son of India”, whose visionary reforms had an important role in shaping the country’s way in the 21st century.

Sachin Pilot referred to Rajiv Gandhi as a forward -thinking leader, who through his leadership gave India a progressive direction.

The pilot paid his heartfelt tribute to former Prime Minister Shri Rajiv Gandhiji on his ‘sacrifice’ on his ‘sacrifice’. Rajiv Gandhi was a visionary leader who gave direction to the country by providing a progressive approach through his leadership and modern thinking. His decisions took India to new heights. ,

He said, “His contribution is an inspiration for us, and his memory will always be in our hearts.”

The Congress party called Rajiv Gandhi’s role in the creation of a modern India and called his contribution “unforgettable”.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu also paid floral tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on the anniversary of his death. He killed Rajiv Gandhi’s statue at Sadbhavan Chowk in Chhota Shimla.

Congress leaders Ashok Gehlot and Govind Singh Dotasara also paid tribute to Rajiv Gandhi in a memorial. He recalled his vision for a modern India and his contribution to its development.

In Telangana, CM Revent Reddy recalled former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and garlanded the leader’s statue in the secretariat.

In Odisha, State Congress President Bhakta Charan Das also paid tribute to Rajiv Gandhi and said, “Today, we are remembering his sacrifice, dedication and contribution in the creation of India. Rajiv Gandhi today inspires people with confidence today.”

Rajiv Gandhi took charge of the Congress in 1984 after the assassination of his mother and then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. He became the youngest Prime Minister of India at the age of 40 when he took over in October 1984.

He served as the Prime Minister of India till 2 December 1989. Born on August 20, 1944, Rajiv Gandhi was murdered on May 21, 1991 during an election rally in Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu by a liberation tigers of a suicide bomber.

Under his government, India’s economy began modernizing as they promoted technology, telecommunications and education reforms.

Rajiv Gandhi played an important role in modernizing the country’s technical infrastructure. His vision helped laying the foundation of the IT Boom of India and beyond the 1990s. His government’s computer and IT policy reduced import duties on computers and software to promote IT development.

His government policies helped the National Association of Software and Service Companies in 1988 to promote India’s software industry. His government also encouraged computer education in schools and universities.
