Qualcomm announced Snapdragon 7 General 4SOC with AI features, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0

Qualcomm unveiled Snapdragon 7 General 4 SoC on Thursday. The new mobile platform succeeds Snapdragon 7 General 3 and selects Snapdragon elite gaming features. It is built on ships with 4Nm process technology and multiple AI capabilities of TSMC. It supports General AI assistants and popular large language models (LLM) that is running directly on the device. Snapdragon 7 General 4SOC has a prime core with 2.8GHz clock speed. It provides connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. Honor and Vivo will launch new handsets with chipset this month.

Qualcomm launched Snapdragon 7 General 4

Snapdragon 7 General 4SOC is a new mid-range chip based on 4Nm of TSMC process technology And a 64-bit follows architecture. It has a prime core with a speed of 2.8GHz, four performance cores are seen at 2.4GHz, and three efficiency cores are accompanied by the peak frequency of 1.8GHz. This includes Adreno GPU and Qualcomm Spectra Image Signal Processor (ISP).

Qualcomm states that Snapdragon 7 General 4SOC provides new cameras and gaming capabilities, and advanced on-device AI features run by Qualcomm AI engines. GPU graphics rendering has been improved on its predecessor to improve CPU performance 27 percent faster and improve 30 percent. It is said that Snapdragon 7 General 3 offered 65 percent better AI performance on 3 mobile platforms. It will support General AI assistants and popular LLM running directly on the device.

Like the previous Snapdragon chipset, the new Snapdragon 7 gene 4 has Snapdragon sound technology. It brings Qualcomm Extended Individual Area Network (XPAN) technology and Aqstic Audio Codec for playback of various forms. It also offers Snapdragon Elite Gaming features such as Qualcomm Game Quick Touch, Triple ISP and Snapdragon adaptive game configuration.

Other highlights of Snapdragon 7 General 4 include Hexagon NPU, which supports the pre-print INT8, and Int16, and Snapdragon 5G Modem-RF system. The chipset gets a Qualcomm Fastnacious Mobile Connectivity System for Wi-Fi 7, Wi-Fi 6/5 and Bluetooth 6.0. It supports LP-DR5X RAM in 4,200mHz speed and UFS 4.0, UFS 3.1, and UFS 2 storage versions.

Snapdragon 7 General is equipped with an AI-operated auto focus, auto white balance and auto exposure for 4 photos and videos. It also provides electronic image stabilization (EIS) and supports 4K resolution HDR video capturing on 30fps.

Part number SM7750-Ab is confirmed to be adopted by the new generation mobile chip by Honor and Vivo. Honor and Vivo handsets with Snapdragon 7 General 4 chip will reach the market later this month. The untoward honor 400 is believed to be considered the first smartphone to ship with a new chip.
