Rahul Gandhi in Jammu and Poonach of Kashmir to meet families affected by Pakistani shelling

Jammu:

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi visited Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday and met people of cross -border firing by Pakistani soldiers during recent enmity between the two countries.

The Poonch sector was a witness to the artillery and mortar shelling following an accurate attacks under Operation Sindoor on nine terrorist hubs in India and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir, in response to a deadly attack on 22 April in Pahgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 7 May.

This was Mr. Gandhi’s second visit since the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April.

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Mr. Gandhi visited the families of the victims and promised that they would raise their issues at the national level.

“Broken houses, scattered items, moist eyes, and painful stories of losing loved ones in every corner – these patriotic families take the greatest burden of war with courage and dignity every time. I salute my courage. I stand firm with the victims families – I will definitely increase their demands and issues at the national level.”

He also interacted with school students in Poonach and assured them that everything would be normal again. He said, “Now, you have seen the danger and a little frightening situation, but don’t worry, everything will be normal. Your way to answer this problem should be that you study and actually work hard and make a lot of friends in school,” he told them.

He later talked to reporters about his visit and said that “heavy damage” was done.

“I talked with people and tried to understand their problems. He requested me to increase the issue at the national level, and I will do it,” Mr. Gandhi said.

The tension between India and Pakistan has increased, after the Pahalgam attack, in which 26 people were killed.

India, after finding a cross -border link for the attack, launched “Operation Sindoor” on 7 May and hit terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK).

Pakistan then launched a large -scale missile and drone attack, but the dangers were thwarted. In vengeance, Indian forces killed air areas in Pakistan. On May 10, a ceasefire ended enmity.
