New Delhi:
Foreign Minister Dr. Doubling his attack on S Jaishankar, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today reiterated his earlier claim that the Center informed Pakistan at the beginning of Operation Sindoor and said that it was not a “lapse”, but a “crime”. This gave a sharp response to the government, which called it “a completely misconception of facts”. The BJP has said that the leader of the opposition’s wrongdoing of the minister’s comments “reconstructed the intentions” and questioned the time of the allegation.
Em Jaishankar’s silence is not just telling – it is harmful.
So I would ask again: Pakistan knew how many Indian aircraft we had lost?
It was not a lapse. It was a crime. And the nation deserves truth. https://t.co/IZN4LMBGJZ

On Saturday, Mr. Gandhi interacted with the media while Dr. Shared a video of Jaishankar. “At the beginning of the operation, we have sent a message to Pakistan, stating that we are attacking the infrastructure and we are not strike in the army, so the army is an option to stand outside and not interfere in the process. They did not take good advice.” Sharing the video, Mr. Gandhi said in a post, “It was a crime to inform Pakistan at the beginning of our attack. Eam has publicly acknowledged that Goi has done it. It has been authorized by the author to authorize it? How many aircraft were lost by our Airforce?” He asked.
Today reposting the video, Mr. Gandhi said that the Foreign Minister’s “silence is not just telling – it is harmful”. “So I will ask again: How many Indian aircraft lost because Pakistan knew? It was not a lapse. It was a crime. And the nation deserves truth,” he said.
Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera reiterated Mr. Gandhi’s allegations during a press briefing and questioned the “relationship” Minister of External Affairs and Pakistan, due to which he “already” informed him. “This is not diplomacy, this is espionage. Everyone has heard what the Foreign Minister has said. A cover-up is being done.” Mr. Khera also asked whether this information helped the terrorists to escape from India’s airstrikes on the targets of terror. “This statement shows that the terrorists must have fled from their bases. The Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi and the Foreign Minister should answer why this was done,” he said.
The Ministry of External Affairs has said that the minister’s comments are being falsely represented. “Eam said that we had initially warned Pakistan, which is clearly an early stage after the commencement of the OP Sindoor. It is being incorrectly represented as before it begins. The facts are being called a completely false interest,” the ministry said.
The government has pointed to a statement by Lieutenant General Rajiv Gai, Director General of Military Operations during briefing on Operation Sindoor. “… Even though we tried to reach and communicate in the immediate awakening of Operation Sindoor to a strike in the heart of terror, the request was rejected with a information that a serious response was inevitable and was unavoidable. We were definitely prepared,” Lieutenant General Guai said.
The fact-zancha wing of the Press Information Bureau has said that the minister was being done incorrectly. Calling a social media post, Pib Facecheck said, “Social media posts said from the statement of External Affairs Minister @Drsjaishankar that India informed Pakistan before the start of #Operationsindoor. Eam is being wrong and has not made this statement. It has not been made.
The BJP in response to its comment made a scary retaliation on Mr. Gandhi. Party spokesperson Tuhin Sinha told NDTV that Mr. Gandhi is repeatedly presenting the minister’s comments. “Rahul Gandhi is working at the behest of some powers. Why are he doing the Foreign Minister when he is abroad, when he is abroad? Why are he doing this when our diplomatic missions are going abroad?”
Mr. Sinha said that DGMO’s comment in briefing has no doubt in anyone’s mind. He said, “With only one teenager, Vile’s intentions can repeatedly question the Foreign Minister when the doubt has been repeatedly allotted. This raises the question of me and the Congress party’s intention,” he said. “The aspect of standing with the government, which Rahul Gandhi kept for three weeks (after the Pahgam attack) has gone for a toss. He is back in his soluble ways.”
