On 20 April, Vishnu Sharma, a resident of Sawai Madhopur, married Ms. Paswan from Madhya Pradesh. The marriage took place in the presence of friends and family, according to Hindu rituals. The wedding was organized through broker Pappu Meena, for which Vishnu paid him two lakh rupees.
Within two weeks of marriage, Ms. Paswan ran away from Rs 1.25 lakh, Rs 30,000 and a mobile phone cost of Rs 30,000.
“I run a handcart and got married with a loan. I also borrowed a mobile, he also took it. I never felt that she would cheat me,” Mr. Sharma said.
Recalling the night of Ms. Paswan, Mr. Sharma said, he returned from work late at night and slept immediately after dinner.
“I usually don’t sleep much, but that night I slept like a child, as if someone had given me a sleeping pill,” he said.
Mr. Sharma’s mother is also in shock.
