Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh today asked for domestic production of defense equipment, saying that this is not a long -term solution. Speaking at the National Quality Conclave in Delhi in one day, Pakistan tried to increase the ongoing tension by targeting military establishments in the northern and western parts of the country and achieved a rebellion from the armed forces, Mr. Singh said that “Operation Sindoor” was a success as due to the quality of weapons.
After Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power, he emphasized “defense sovereignty”, Mr. Singh said, which means to be self -sufficient in terms of defense production.
“If we buy defense equipment from other countries, it means that we are outsourced and leaving our safety in someone else’s hands. This may not be a long -term solution,” he said, the government has emphasized defense production in terms of both quality and quantity.
There are already factory for defense production, defense PSUs in the country. He said that the government is focusing on both quality and quantity and has tried corporateness of Ordnance factories by this end.
“In the absence of a proper brand, a consumer gets confused. So I have a big appeal for you today-we are building a strong, reliable world for the defense industry.
Mr. Singh’s comments continued between Operation Sindoor, attacks on terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir. A day later, Pakistan tried to target military establishments in 15 cities, including Srinagar, Pathankot, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh.
The Indian armed forces responded by targeting and neutralizing the Pakistani air defense radar and systems at several places including Lahore.
