New Delhi:
The Supreme Court on Monday allowed podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia to return the passport so that he could travel abroad at work.
A bench of Justices Surya Kant and N. Kotiswar Singh relaxed the condition after Assam and Maharashtra governments, the investigation against them was completed.
The bench asked Allahabadia to contact the Maharashtra Cyber Police Bureau to return to his passport.
The apex court also told Senior Advocate Abhinav Chandrachud, appearing for Allahbadia, it would consider his prayer to club the FIR against its client and to bring them to one place in the next hearing.
On 18 February, the apex court saved Allahabadia from arrest in several FIRs filed on its comments during the YouTube show and directed him to submit his passport with the investigating officer of Police Station Nodal Cyber Police, Thane.
On March 3, the apex court allowed Allahabadia to re -launch its podcast “The Ranveer Show” to maintain “morality and decency” and make suitable for audiences of all ages.
Allahbadia, known as Beerbiseps, was booked for her comments on her parents and had sex on Comic Sam Raina’s YouTube show “India’s Got Latent”.
The apex court initially barred Allahabadia from broadcasting any program of its podcast, which had a direct or indirect impact on the properties of sub-judicial matters, including him.
On 18 February, the apex court provided interim security from arrest to Allahbadia, calling its comments “vulgar” and said that they had “dirty minds” which kept the society ashamed.
Apart from Allahabadia and Raina, other people named in Assam are comics Ashish Chanchalani, Jaspreet Singh and Apoorva Makhija.
