Rape, accused of killing a minor girl, allegedly dies from suicide: police

Police said that a minor girl was accused of raping and killing a minor girl in Kalyan city, allegedly died of suicide in Taloja Central Jail in neighboring Navi Mumbai on Sunday.

An official said that the accused, Vishal Gavali (35), was found hanging in the jail toilet at around 3.30 pm.

The Kharghar police station official said, “Goli went to the toilet and allegedly used a towel to hang himself. The jail authorities later found the dead body. A Panchnama (Spot Inspection) was operated. The body has been operated by the government of Mumbai for post -mortem.”

Gavali lawyer Sanjay Dhakoni said that the family of the deceased and the deceased suspect had dishonestly committed dishonesty.

Talking about Gawali’s alleged suicide, Kalyan Eastern MLA Sulabh Gaikwad said that the victim’s family got justice.

“Vishal Gawali was entitled to strict punishment. While law enforcement agencies and judiciary were working on it, God has ruled. The victim and his family got justice,” he said.

Kalyan West MLA Vishwanath Bhor said that Gawali should have been ideally punished by law, but “this is also natural justice”.

Shiv Sena (UBT) district chief Dipesh Mahatre emphasized the need of the court to give quick decisions so that it would create fear among the criminals.

BJP leader Manisha Rane said that the galli should be publicly punished by law to send a vigorous and clear message to those involved in crimes against women.
