An official said on Friday that the rapist of a minor girl from Kerala and a forced recovering from Rajasthan is one of the three fugitives from the United Arab Emirates to pave the way for their trial, an official said on Friday that an official said on Friday.
The CBI has succeeded in bringing back the three – Suhail Bashir, Tofik Nazir Khan and Aditya Jain – through interpol channels, he said.
The subjects of three fugitive Indian law enforcement officers are desired. CBI’s International Police Cooperation Unit (IPCU), in collaboration with NCB-Abu Dhabi and Kerala Police, brought back the Red notice subject Bashir on 2 April.
A CBI statement said, “The Escort team of Kerala Police returned from the UAE with a fugitive criminal and landed at the Cochin International Airport. The subject was first located through the nearest follow-up by the CBI in the UAE through a close follower.”
Bashir has been registered by the Kerala Police under the protection of the Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act in 2023 in a case registered in a case registered at the compensatupuzha police station, Ernakulam Rural District, Kerala.
He was on run since the registration of the case against him. The CBI received a red notice published through Interpol on December 2, 2024 at the request of Kerala Police.
Nazir Khan also landed in Cochin in a flight from UAE and was handed over to the Gujarat Police team. On February 25, 2025 at the request of the Gujarat Police, the CBI received a red notice against Nazir Khan.
Jain was wanted by Rajasthan Police in several criminal cases, including a case registered at Kuchaman City Police Station, Didwana district on allegations of forcible recovery calls to rich traders.
The CBI received a red notice published against Jain through Interpol on February 18, 2025 at the request of Rajasthan Police.
An official said that more than 100 wanted criminals have been brought back to India through interpol channels in the last few years.
