Rolling with visual changes for iOS 26 beta 4 liquid glass, notification summary for news and more

Apple released the iOS 26 Beta 4 update for iPhone on Tuesday. It is initially available only to developers and beta testers, and brings significant changes on previous recurrence, which was released earlier this month. Liquid glass, which is designed with elements like Apple’s new user interface (UI) glass, is dialed back again. Cupertino-based tech veteran has re-enabged the notification summary for the news and entertainment months after being deliberately disabled earlier this year. There are other subtle changes, such as slightly ticked camera app icons and updated call screening options.

iOS 26 beta 4 update: what’s new

In the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025, Apple took raps to liquid glass as a new design language for its operating system. This vision was to bring the UI of its devices with pro headsets, including glasses, which aim to provide a more harmonious experience. However, it was introduced with polarization opinion, some considered the beginning of a bright era for the company, while others jokingly compared it to Windows Vista.

And although it was talking to the people, Apple was focusing on criticizing social media. With the third iOS 26 beta update released earlier this month, the tech giants tonged the glass reflexes and made it slightly darker for more easyness. However, the iOS 26 Beta 4 has rejoined the move again.

The OS bears a similar amount of reflections in the form of another beta update but with a significant addition. Scrolling through information in the notification center is now easy to scroll as the background automatically becomes slightly darker in appearance, which increases readability.

In addition, another significant change is for the notification summary. In January, Apple disabled this facility after the report of Apple Intelligence, which generated the wrong summary of headlines in the news and entertainment category. Users can once again scan through significant details in a summary format and get condensed information.

The camera app is also shown and is a new splash screen describing the UI changes in the app. In addition, you can turn off calling calling, ask unknown callers the reason behind calling them, or automatically rolling out with new options for silent calls, call screening features from unknown callers.
