A UI8 is expected to be released as a repetition of Samsung’s Android 16 operating system (OS) later this year. According to a tipster claims on social media, the South Korean tech group can upgrade a notable Galaxy AI feature with additional capabilities. Audio eraser, which allows the user to unwanted or remove background noise from the video, may soon work in real time, making the audio removed without entering the editing mode.

In a post On X (East Twitter), Tipster Ice Universe shared a short video, depicted how the audio eraser feature upgraded in a UI 8 will work. It is suggested that users may be able to remove backgrounds or desired noise, such as honoring cars or chatting crowds, while watching videos in real time. It is asked to end the need to enter the editing state to complete the same task.

When a video is played, a dedicated option to reduce the noise is said to appear in the player’s lower-right corner. It is depicted by a new icon that is a combination of the Galaxy AI symbol and an eraser icon. When tapped, the process will begin within the media player and according to the playback, the playback will resume with the removed audio.
If this feature actually comes into Galaxy devices with a UI 8, it will be an upgrade on the current version of the audio eraser in a UI 7 on the Galaxy S25 series. Currently, it allows users to dial specific elements of audio in video clips. It takes advantage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to analyze, difference and classify sound types within the audio editor, such as voice, music, noise, crowd, nature and air.
In a UI 7, the audio eraser feature only works in the stock gallery app. However, Past report Suggest that Samsung may also bring support for other apps, including Samsung notes and voice recorders.
A UI 8 beta allegedly comes with extended support for this feature and can be introduced for all Galaxy devices when the public creation of Android 16-based OS is rolled out.
