Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge handset finally gets a launch date. The handset was initially declared at the Galaxy Unpacked Event in January and was later displayed in March in March in Barcelona in March. The company has now confirmed its launch date and teased some of its details. The upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge is considered the thinnest flagship phone. It is expected to join the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Launch Date
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge KST (05:30 AM IST) will be launched globally at 9 am on 13 May. Confirmed In a press release. The South Korean tech veteran claimed that it would be a chain handset of the thinnest Galaxy to date, and it would be equipped with Galaxy AI features. The upcoming smartphone will be similar to the 200-megapixel main rear camera as well as the top-end Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Earlier, leak suggested that the price of Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge can be Eur 1,249 (about Rs 1,19,000) and EUR 1,369 (about Rs 1,30,000) for 256GB and 512GB storage variants respectively. It will probably be introduced in Titanium Jetblack, Titanium Icta and Titanium Silver Colorvez.
Similar to the current Galaxy S25 handset, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be operated by a Snapdragon 8 Elite for a Galaxy chipset in association with 12GB RAM. This will possibly ship with Android 15-based UI 7 and sports a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1,440 x 3,120 pixels and 120Hz refresh rates.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has been tipped to measure 5.85 mm in thickness and weighs 163G. This can be a titanium middle frame with a glass back and front panel with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, respectively. It is expected to carry an IP68 rating for dust and water resistant construction and an in-display for biometric authentication.
In the camera department, separate from the 200-megapixel main sensor, the Galaxy S25 Edge can get a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter at the back and a 12-megapixel front camera sensor for selfie and video calls. It can pack a 3,900mAh battery and support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.
