The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is expected to be unveiled in early 2026. Rumors claim that the cameras in the Galaxy S26 lineup have been slated to get some upgrade. A report has recently suggested that the ultra version of the upcoming lineup may make the 200-megapixel main camera sensor slightly larger than its predecessor. Now, another report claims that the plus variant may have a larger ultravide camera than the current model. If the Galaxy S26 Age takes place of the Galaxy S26+, we can see the upgrade in the former handset.
Samsung Galaxy S26+ or Galaxy S26 Edge can get a 50-megapixel ultravide camera
According to a winfuture.de report, Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Phone Codenames “NPA1,” “NPA2”, and “NPA3” is expected to be taken, where NPA is for the next paradigm. This makes a logical understanding, as the Galaxy S25 series handsets have Kodename PA1, PA2 and PA3, where PA stands for paradigms.
Since there are recent rumors about Samsung that are replacing plus variants with the edge model, the NPA2 handset can be either the Galaxy S26+ or Galaxy S6 Edge. Meanwhile, the NPA1 and NPA3 models are expected to be base Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Ultra respectively.
According to the report, either the Galaxy S26+ or Galaxy S26 Edge can come with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. If true, it will be a huge upgradation. In particular, both the Galaxy S25 Edge and the Galaxy S25+ have a 12-megapixel sensor connected with the rear ultravide-angle lens.
The report states that the Galaxy S26 Ultra can be equipped with a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 5X optical zoom support. With this and the main sensor, the phone will probably take an ultravide shooter, whose size is not yet known.
Previous reports have claimed that the Galaxy S26 Ultra may have a 1/1.1-inch 200-megapixel Sony CMOS on the primary sensor back. If true, it will be upgraded to 1/1.3-inch 200-megapixel sensor of Galaxy S25 Ultra.
