Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 allegedly came with Android 16-based UI 8

Samsung’s Android 15-based UI 7 operating system (OS) rollout is not yet completed, but the company already plans to release its next repetition. According to a report, a UI 8 based on Android 16 will be offered out-off-the-box with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldables, which is said to be working and is expected to debut for some time at the end of this year.

Semomobiles citing insider sources Reports Samsung plans to launch its next generation foldable smartphone-cut Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7-with a UI 8 out-off-the-box. This is potentially means that handset can run on Android 16-based firmware at the time of launch.

The next generation foldable phone of the South Korean Technology Group is estimated to debut in July this year, with the launch deadline of its previous repetitions.

In particular, Samsung is said to have already started testing their next OS. A tipster recently listed the internal testing construction of a UI8 on the company’s server as a “Newfound Test firmware”. It is reported to be a building version for the flagship Galaxy S25 series with S938BXXU1BYC1/S938BoxM1BYC1/S938BXXU1BYC1. This shows that Samsung is likely to stop the development of its next generation OS two months earlier compared to its normal timeline.

In relation to its release date, the successor of Android 15 has already been confirmed by a Google officer to release in June 2025. It can be moved to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) on June 3, after which the original tool manufacturer (OEMS) like Samsung can create a custom variants of OS catering and release it for its respective devices.

There is no official word yet about the availability of a UI 8 update of Samsung involved or Samsung. More information is likely to be leading for release of Android 16-based OS in the coming months.
