The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 was launched at the company’s Galaxy Unpacked event last month. IFIXIT has released a tierdown video of the foldable smartphone of the new book-style, which gives us a glimpse on its internal and has a repair rating. The firm has rated the Galaxy Z Fold 7 a poor repair in its latest tear. Tightly packed internal components and secure battery appear to make the phone’s self-reputation extremely challenging, even though it happened well in recent durability tests.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Recability Effixit appeared through Tierdown
The IFIXIT team removes the back panel of Galaxy Z Fold 7 and starts a tearing video of about eight minutes. The device has two different battery cells, but accessing them is a complex process. To reach the first cell, the user removed the ribbon cables, several screws on the back, and the lower assembly completely separated the USB Type-C port.
According to Tierdown Video, Samsung uses a bridge tab to remove battery, but makes strong adhesive extraction. For the second cell, the IFIXIT team applies heat to the team cover display and uses a suction cup to separate the panel, highlighting that battery replacement is not a user friendly. He then had to remove several additional small components, including a SIM card tray that was clinging down. After an extended disassembly process, they were eventually able to use another battery.
In addition, Fud said that the delicate internal fold screen complicates considerable repair. Display bezels are affixed to place, and margins are tight, often damage during decisams. External performance is claimed to be ‘sensitive to pressure and torsonal rotation’. The video states that it can easily be damaged by dirt particles or even ‘small amounts of pressure from your nails’.
Video shows that changing only display panels of Galaxy Z fold 7 is usually not possible, as the screen repair usually requires the entire screen and chassis assembly. IFIXIT also highlights that source to replacement parts for Samsung’s foldable phones is a major challenge, as they are not easily available to consumers.
Finally, Tierdown Video Galaxy Z Fold 7 gives a repair score of three out of 10, calling it ‘repair nightmare’.
