Samsung’s Galaxy S26 lineup can leave the plus model in favor of the edge model

Over the years, the Galaxy S Plus model lost its popularity due to the inclusion of the note series, which has now developed in the ultra model. The Galaxy Note series reached its end with the Galaxy S22 Ultra (2022), the first ultra model to incorporate S Pen. On one side the lesson of brief history, now it seems that the Samsung Galaxy S Plus model is going to complete a similar luck with a newcomer in the family called Galaxy Edge. According to a report, Samsung did not include the Galaxy S26+ in the upcoming S26 lineup, which is expected to be launched in early 2026. It is likely that in 2026 the new age smartphone may change the plus variant.

Sammy policeOnly three models have been seen for the upcoming year Samsung Galaxy S26 series lineup. The source claims that it only standard Samsung Galaxy S26 (SM-S942), Galaxy S26 Edge (SM-S947), and Gasma SM-S947, and Galaxy S26 Ultra (SM-S948) can be found in the GSMA database, where smartphones are well listed in advance.

The report also states that the Galaxy S26+ (can be tagged as SM-S946) can be added to a later date. However, the possibility of this happens seems a bit thin as Samsung always adds all its upcoming models to the database as soon as possible, concluding that if it does not make it in the database in the next two weeks, it can also be canceled.

As mentioned in our review of the Galaxy S25 Edge, the Galaxy S25 Plus makes the edge in India fruitless. We also suggested that Samsung should combine only two models into the edge model to make a better understanding of its future lineup. Such a trick also indicates that Samsung is probably adding more firepower to its next generation edge model. The model is less in some areas and adding some pro-grade features to it can make the Galaxy S26+ fruitless and can help better sell the Galaxy S26 Edge.

While we recommend our readers to take the above information with a pinch of salt, if true, the Galaxy S25 series can be the last S series from Samsung that has a plus-shaped model. Samsung’s first plus model was the Galaxy S8+ (2017) which was the development of a large-screen Galaxy S7 edge model released in 2016. The Galaxy S7 Edge standard (yet compact) was a large version of the Galaxy S7 with a flat display. The Galaxy S7 Edge received aggressively curved dual-edge displays, which was later branded as an infinity display with the Galaxy S8 series.
