Samsung’s One UI 8 beta 4 gets rid of a adaptive clock on the one UI 8 beta 4 lock screen for the Galaxy S25 series: Report

Samsung released its Android 16-based operating system (OS) a UI8 with its latest Galaxy Z series foldables. It is expected to make its way for other handsets soon, with beta test. According to a report, a UI 8 Beta 4 for the Galaxy S25 series was seen on the test server of the tech veteran. However, one of the new features, which was seen on the previous test build of the firmware, is allegedly missing from the latest update.

A UI beta 4 update

According to the post by Tipster Tarun Vats on X (East Twitter), an internal test of a UI 8 beta 4 was created on the Samsung server for the Galaxy S25 series. This identifier was listed with Zyg5 and is about 1319.27MB in size. One of the following build numbers is reportedly updated:

  1. S938bxxu5zyg5
  2. S938boxm5zyg5
  3. S938bxxu5byg5

After searching for it, Sammobile reported Some features that were seen in the previous ByfB Build of a UI 8 beta are missing from the latest version.

A remarkable lapse is an adaptive lock screen clock. It is a dynamic clock widget that automatically adjusts the size of the subject in its wallpaper. The clock wraps around the main subject, such as a person or pet, for better aesthetics while maintaining its visibility.

The report estimated that this feature is still expected to create a UI 8 for the Samsung Galaxy S25 series. However, its disappearance from the upcoming Beta 4 build suggests that work on the update may not be finished and it is not ready for rollouts, with the tech veteran still to iron some bugs.

Currently, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE Ship with a UI 8. The rest, such as the flagship Galaxy S25 series and other phones, run on Android 15-based UI 7. Update is expected to make its way for other Galaxy smartphones later this year.
