Perplexity is allegedly discussing with smartphone manufacturers to establish its comet browser in advance. According to the report, Artificial Intelligence (AI) North Engine Platform wants its AI-managed browser to reach “ten millions of” users by 2026. The comet browser was launched on 10 July and is currently available only to the Max subscribers of perplexity. Other users will be given access to invited basis in the coming days. In particular, the AI browser is powered by the same AI answer engine that gives strength to its search platform.

Perplexity comet can be pre -install in browser smartphone

A raater ReportPerplexity CEO Arvind Srinivas said that the company is negotiating with smartphone original equipment manufacturers (OEMS) to pre-load the comet browser. The comment is interesting that currently, the comate supports only Windows and McOS desktop interfaces, and no mobile browser app.

However, it is likely that the mobile version of the app is already in work, and the company plans to launch it in partnership with the smartphone brand. Last year, Perplexity did nothing to offer free pro subscription to all Indian users that buy nothing phones 2A through the company’s website or Flipkart.

The CEO is allegedly considering pre-establishing the browser in the smartphone to increase its “viscosity”. Essentially, the company is banking on the possibility that if an app comes pre-loaded on the smartphone, there is a high probability that the users will try it. In particular, the company has ambitions to reach 10 million to 100 million users in 2026 in all platforms.

However, while pre-establishing the app on the smartphone, Srinivas told the Reuters that the brands are not very willing to make it a default app. “It is not easy to explain the mobile OEM to replace the default browser from Chrome,” he said.

Currently available in beta, the comate browser comes with an AI-powered sidebar assistant that is relevant about all open tabs and can help users with any question about them. The browser also has agental capabilities and autonomally book an appointment with a business, can send a webpage or its content as email, buy products from e-commerce websites, and more.
