Shashi Tharoor reacted to Bilawal Bhutto’s “Blood Will Flow” comment

Thiruvananthapuram:

The nation is demanding military action against Pakistan Pahgam Terror AttackAnd some visible military reaction is unavoidable, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has said that tension between the two countries has increased after the massacre of 26 civilians in Jammu and Kashmir.

Calling it a “long pattern” seen in a fourth century, the former diplomat said that Pakistan always denies the responsibility of terrorists in India despite the training of terrorists across the border.

He said, “I think it is very clear that there is a pattern. People are encouraged, trained, armed, and often directed from across the border. Then Pakistan denies all responsibility. Finally, the responsibility is established and proven, including foreign intelligence agencies,” he told the news agency ANI.

Mr. Tharoor said that the Indian side was vengerated after the 2016 URI attacks and the 2019 Pulwama attacks, and suggested that this time, Pakistan may have to face a strict reaction from India.

“After Uri, the government conducted a surgical strike on the border, and after Pulwama, there was Balakot air strike. Today, I think we are going to see more than this. It is clear that we have a series of options – diplomatic, economic, intelligence sharing, secret and overtake action.

He said, “The nation is demanding and expecting it. Nobody knows what it will happen, where it will happen, or when it will happen. But I am sure there will be some response,” he said.

Mr. Tharoor also responded to India’s remarks by Pakistan People’s Party chief Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s “Blood with Flow”, which is suspending the Indus Water Treaty in India.

“This is just inflammatory rhetoric. Pakistanis should understand that they cannot kill only Indians with impure. We do not want to do anything for Pakistanis. But if they do something with us, be ready for response. If blood flows, it will probably flow more on our side.”

Tuesday’s terrorist attack in Sightseeing Grasslands in Pahalgam, known as Mini Switzerland on Tuesday, was the deadliest since scrapping Article 370 in 2019. The role of a terrorist group associated with Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Tabiba has emerged after the attack.

The relations between India and Pakistan have resorted to ventilative measures to proceed with both countries, including cancellation of visa. Pakistan has regularly violated the ceasefire, along with the Line of Control, as well as tension has increased.

India has abolished the Indus Water Treaty, while Pakistan, which has been repeatedly accused of being a “global subscriber of terrorism”, has suspended all bilateral deals with India, including the Shimla Agreement.
