Sidivinyak Temple Mumbai Coconut, Mala, ‘Prasad’ for security reasons amidst India Pakistan tension

Mumbai:

On Friday, the management of the famous Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai dedicated to Lord Ganesh said that it would not allow coconut, garland and ‘Prasad’ for Prasad from May 11 due to security reasons.

The temple located in the Prabhadevi region of South Mumbai is a popular religious place that attracts a large number of devotees.

President of Shri Siddhivinayak Ganpati Temple Trust Sada Sarvankar said that thousands of people visit the temple everyday and it is in the hit list of terrorists. A senior police officer recently held a meeting with the trust.

“We get many advice from the police along with the government. For security measures, he said that the coconut to be offered to Lord Ganesha during the safety screening has not been detected and it can pose a threat. Prasad can be poisoned. To avoid this, we will not allow the garland and coconut to present the desi for time,” he said.

He said that this remedy is a temporary in view of the enmity between India and Pakistan.

Shri Sarvankar said that the temple trust spoke to flower vendors outside the temple, who requested to start the initiative from May 11 so that they could end their existing stocks.

The former Shiv Sena MLA also said that the trust of the temple is also trying to see if it can make available flowers and ‘Durva’ grass, it is believed that it is a favorite of Lord Ganesha, for devotees so that they can present it to the deity.

He said that in an increased safety measure, Trust would also recruit 20 retired armed forces personnel and they will be armed. The security of the devotees is the responsibility of the police and the temple trust, Mr. Sarvankar said.
