Smartphone exports 2 lakh crore rupees, iPhone shipment tops are more than the list: Center

New Delhi:

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Tuesday that the export of mobile phones in the financial year of 2024-25 contributes about Rs 1.5 lakh crore in the financial year of 2024-25.

The minister said that the export of smartphones has seen a 54 percent increase in the 2023-24 financial year.

“Smartphone exports have crossed Rs 2 lakh crore in the financial year 2024-25. It is now among the top exported goods outside India. About Rs 1.5 lakh crore was exported,” said Mr. Vaishnav.

He said that electronics manufacturing in the country has increased more than five times in the last 10 years and more than six times the export.

The minister also announced that the government is issuing a draft notification for a passive component plan, which will be open for consultation for about two weeks.
