New Delhi:
A spokesman for a umbrella body of 17 cookie rebel groups in Manipur hoped to get separation from the state, while it is under the President’s rule.
Cookie National Organization (KNO) spokesman Selen Hawkip also explained the nuances of the words “regional integrity of Manipur”, as mentioned in the ground rules of the suspension (SOO) agreement of operation.
In response to a question on political unity during a ‘Space’ session on X on 27 April, Mr. Hawkip said, “There is no apprehension about reducing Suu’s role and political demand in any way.”
“In fact, the President’s rule is a time when the state government is placed on an animated suspension. And this is the time when we can move forward if we are united and allow the government to take our action. Therefore, this is a good time for us,” said Mr. Hawkip.
“Because earlier, whenever in the last two years, for example, the government tried to start its commitment with Suu Group, somehow or other chief ministers will cause problems to remove the process of sootry in some places. Now, we have out like this,” Mr. Hawkip said that former Chief Minister N Biran Singh is responsible for Ni Biran Singh.
Former chief minister Allegations have deniedHe maintains his government’s functions such as action on illegal migrants, illegal opium popy cultivation, and forest encroachers were not done for the purpose of a particular community.

“, As I have mentioned earlier, the problem I have faced is more than our internal issues, namely on the nomenclature or in the context of giving discounts in the ways that they feel that it is true. On that count, I have said in many places, name one thing that Suu has competed on our political demands? Have we never given any kind of response? Said.
The twenty -five rebel groups of Cookie, Zomi and HMAR Tribes come under two umbrella organizations for the purpose of interaction with India – KNO, of which Mr. Hawkip is spokesperson, and led by the United People’s Front (UPF) under the leadership of Zomi Revolutionary Army. The KNO is led by the Cookie National Army.
KNO representing 17 armed groups and UPF representing eight armed groups signed a tripartite solar agreement with the Central and State Government as part of the comprehensive political dialogue. They were negotiating to a regional council, until the demand for separation from Manipur after the breakout of ethnic clashes two years ago.
The valley-head Mitis is against the division of Manipur, while cookie tribes in the mountainous districts of Southern Manipur and some areas in the northern parts want a separate administration or ‘cukland’ that are carved from Manipur.
For a question for clarity on the mention of “Manipur of regional integrity” in the Suu Agreement, Mr. Hawkip said that the issue of regional integrity of Manipur will no longer apply after receiving political solutions by the cookie tribes.
“Territorial integrity was a section laid by the government of Manipur at one time – if you want to classify it – East -3 May, East Year. And at that time our demand was for a regional council. So you have no contradiction due to the Territorial Council and Regional Integrity because TC [territorial council] It was to be inside Manipur, “Mr. Hawkip said in the ‘Space’ session on X, where he also raised questions.

“It was a section that was extremely disliked, but technically there was no contradiction because the Territorial Council was to be within Manipur. However, the post has changed, things have changed, a paradigm has been changed. There is no meaning to not anymore the clause territorial integrity. Hawkip said.
There are two separate platforms – Suu, which refers to the ground rules; There, the Constitution of India is in the first paragraph of the preface, and secondly, the state government had put the regional integrity section, said Mr. Hawkip.
“After 3 May, we do not have disposal for the Sule Premal section, until we have, [territorial integrity clause] Will stay It will remain in this sense … Try to explain to me – after May 3, the claim of Lamka and Kungui words has gained momentum. However, until we have an agreement, the official conditions will still be Churachandpur and Kangpokpi. And this will be the same regarding the regional integrity section. The day we have our colony, the regional integrity element will be irrelevant without any consequences, and we will officially have the right to call Lamka Town Lamka, and Kangpokpi district Kugi.

While Meitei Civil Social Groups have accused the SOO group rebels of participating in the Manipur violence under the guise of ‘village volunteers’, the cookie tribes have pointed back to the Miti rebels, claiming that they returned to attack Kuki villages from conflict-hit Myanmar.
Manipur police said for the first time They found proof In September 2024, involved in the fight between the SOO Group and Meitei rebels, when he recovered five bodies in Ziribam district after gunman.
Three was confirmed as rebels from the Sukitary Cookie Liberation Army (KLA) from Charachandpur district; The fourth was a cookie volunteer from Ziribam, and the fifth was identified as a member of the Meitei rebel group United National Liberation Front (Pambei), or UNLF (P), who signed a ceasefire with the Center and the state in November 2023 – the first and the old Miti Insurgeant Group.
There are many villages of the cookie tribes in the hills around the Miti-Virgas Valley. The Meitei has killed more than 260 people, including the ‘any cookie tribes’, and around 50,000 displaced internal, under the Kyki community, including the ‘any cookie tribes’.
The general category Meiteis wants to be included under the Scheduled Tribes category, while Kukis who share ethnic relations with people in the chin state of neighboring Myanmar and Mizoram, want a separate administration to be carved from Manipur, cited discrimination and uneven stake and cites strength with resources and power.
