The police officer said that eight people, including seven teachers, were forced to offer Namaz during the NCC camp in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh on Saturday.
He said that 159 students were forced to offer Namaz during a camp organized in Shivtarai village under the boundary of Kota police station in Shivtarai village between March 26 and April 1, although only four of them were Muslims, he said.
The students said that an investigation was initiated after the students came back and protested, after which right -wing organizations demanded action against very excited people, the official said.
He said, “The incident took place on 31 March. Senior Superintendent of Police of Bilaspur Rajnesh Singh formed a four member committee under the Superintendent (Kotwali) Akshay Sabdara of the city to investigate the matter. A case was registered on Saturday after submitting an inquiry report to the SSP.”
A case was registered against Dilip Jha, Madhulika Singh, Jyoti Verma, Nerj Kumari, Prashant Vaishnav, Suryabhan Singh and Basant Kumar, who are teachers of teachers.
