Students say that Missed Examination due to Pawan Kalyan convoy, Cops rejected the claim

Hyderabad:

Thirty students in Visakhapatnam could not reach their examination center and after being delayed by the convoy of Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, obviously failed to take the engineering entrance examination. Troubled parents are now expressing their concern about their children’s long-term effects on educational futures.

Actor-prose-hero Pawan Kalyan has organized an important science and technology portfolio.

Students of Pendurthi AI Digital JE Advanced Program – who were taking Joint Entrance Examination (Main), who determines admission to the National Institute of Technology (NITS) – said with traffic blocking, they reached their examination center late. He said that all 30 were removed from the examination hall gates and it was not allowed to appear for the examination.

B Kalvati, the mother of a student, claimed that his son was delayed due to traffic restrictions implemented for Pawan Kalyan convoy. “We were stuck in traffic. It was stopped as Kalyan was on the way to Arku,” Kalavati was said by the news agency Press Trust of India.

Another parents said that they appealed to the vice -president to consider re -determining the examination for the affected students.

In a press release, the All India Students Federation (AISF) convicted officials for disabled traffic management during the examination hours. The students missed the opportunity to write the exam through their own faults.

Opposition YSR Congress spokesperson Karthik Yelpragada said the state “deserves a better science and technology minister”. He said, “The actor-consentor, is true to his cinematic image, continues to treat a public office like a press release event … It’s time to stop clapping in cinematic moments and start demanding real accountability,” he said in a video message.

NDTV has approached Pawan Kalyan’s office, but has not received any response.

In a post on X, the city police claimed that the students were expected to reach the examination centers by 7 am and these 30 students were on time, there was no question of their traffic.
“As per the admit card of the above examinations, each candidate will have to report at 07:00 am and the examination center gate will stop at 8:30 am,” read a rough translation of their post.

Deputy Chief Minister, police said, “At 8:41 am passing through the said junction”.

“Therefore, it is clear that the movement of the deputy CM through the area at 8:41 am has nothing to do with the late arrival of the students who were about to report at 7 am,” the post read.
Police said that traffic on BRTS Road and Gopalpatnam-Pandurti Service Road has not been stopped till 8:30 am so that free movement of candidates can be ensured.

“In addition, since the introduction of these exams on 2 April, if we look at the first innings on each exam, the number of candidates at the center (including latecomers) at the center was 81, 65, 76 and 61, which means that today the number of absent students (including latecomers) is low today,” it was added.
