Guwahati:
A suspicious drone was recovered near the Indo-Bangladesh border in Sribhumi district of Assam on Wednesday evening.
The incident took place in the Chorkuri area near the Indo-Bangladesh border, which is located just 50 meters from the Kushiara river.
A black colored drone was found at the top of a house that has caused tension among the locals.
The police is now analyzing the drone as it is built in China.
Superintendent of Police Parth Protim Das, Superintendent of Police of Sribhumi, told ANI that the police suspect that the drone has come across the border.
“We have received an information from Chorkuri area that a black color drone was found on top of a house. The police reached the spot and recovered the drone. Made in China was written in a drone. We suspect that it has come across the limit. Now we are analyzing the drone,” said Partha Protim Das.
Further investigation is still going on.
Earlier on 26 April, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the arrest of six Bangladeshi persons trying to illegally infiltrate the state.
Moving the social media platform X, Mr. Sarma said that the attempt to infiltrate the individuals was thwarted by the Sribhumi police of Assam as part of a crack from across the unauthorized border.
The arrested persons have been identified as MD Moir, MD Ahidul Seikh, Azizul Seikh, Rokia BB, MH. Ahashan Ullah and MD haresh. In the post, Mr. Sarma confirmed Assam’s zero-oppression approach to the border infiltration and said that all six persons were immediately arrested and pushed back.
“Assam Stand Firm! No intrusion will be tolerated. In a decisive operation, the Sribhumi police caught six intruders while trying to cross the border illegally. Working with zero tolerance, all were arrested and immediately pushed back,” Mr. Sarma said in a post on X.
