New Delhi:
An official said that four teenagers were arrested by the Delhi Police and detained two minors who allegedly looted the owner of a grocery store at a gun tip in Sultan Puri area.
The accused, Vikas (18), Harsh (18), Sourav alias Hagdeepo (18), and Himesh (19), were identified, all the residents of Mangolpuri were found with two minors in several raids in Mangolpuri and Sultan Puri.
He said that the accused had planned a robbery to go on a trip to Manali with his friends.
On Friday, the owner of a grocery store filed a complaint stating that seven to eight unidentified boys entered his shop. They looted cash and documents at gunpoint. They also threatened her with a knife.
A case was registered at the Sultan Puri police station under the relevant sections of the Indian Joint Code and the Arms Act.
The team tracked the places of suspects in T-Block, Maingolpuri and Sultanpuri. He said that five accused, including a minor, were caught in a raid in Mangolpuri, and another minor was caught in Sultanpuri.
An official said that two knives used in the crime and part of the looted cash were recovered from them. During interrogation, the accused admitted to planning a robbery to arrange funds for the yatra.
Police said that further investigation is going on to detect other suspects, recover stolen property and identify additional links.
Vikas has earlier involved in the case of attempt to murder, police said in a statement.
The arrest also helped in cracking another case registered at Kanjhala police station.
